Welcome to the web site of Bruce Barrett, Professor and State Extension Entomology Specialist in the Division of Plant Sciences.  Dr. Barrett has a 3-way appointment, with teaching, research and extension responsibilities.  He teaches two undergraduate courses and one graduate level course in entomology.  The major thrust of his research program is to examine the biology and ecology of key tree fruit (primarily apple) and agroforestry (primarily chestnut) pests found in the Midwest.  Much of his work in these areas are applicable not only regionally, but also nationally and internationally in similar agricultural settings.  Dr. Barrett’s statewide extension duties include the development and delivery of management tactics for arthropods affecting horticultural crops and plants.
